Our barista basics program is designed for beginners with no experience. These sessions will be held on site (59 Golden Four Drive, Bilinga) behind closed doors. Over the span of a 2 hour session, we will cover all the necessary areas required to be able to carry out the duties of a barista.
- Introduction to the world of Australian coffee.
- Importance of how to maximise flavours.
- How and when to adjust your grind (course vs fine).
- Correct tamping techniques.
- Dosing and extraction examples.
- How to steam and texturise milk essential for latte art.
- Milk pouring techniques.
- How to manage your workflow as a barista.
- All types of coffees on a menu.
- Cleaning and maintaining your machine.
We do not allow for more than 2 people to attend a single session as these are highly technical sessions. We want to ensure that each individual is getting an equal amount of 1 on 1 time to maximise efficiency and learning.
Our latte art program is designed for baristas who are comfortable with their abilities as a barista and want to take their latte art to a more advanced level. (We only recommend this course if you have prior barista skill knowledge). Over the span of a 2 hour session, we will cover the following areas:
- Overview of milk texturing, creating the perfect micro-foam.
- Pouring speed, height and positioning.
- Free pouring techniques: push, stack, wiggle, cutting through.
- Creating symmetry and contrast.
- Patterns: Heart, Tulip (with variations), Rosetta, Swan.
